REPORT OF INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON GRAPH THEORY AND ITS APPLICATIONS

The department of mathematics organized International workshop on Graph Theory and Its Applications on 20-21, December 2018. The inaugural function started with prayer song followed by lighting the kuthuvillakku. Dr.Srinivasa Rao, Prof & head, Department of Mathematics welcomed the gathering followed by the release of fourth issue of department Newsletter “Ganith Vaartha” by our honorable Registrar Prof.G.Srinivasu. The Registrar delivered the Presidential address and Prof Dr.S. Balaji, Dean, Faculty of Science and Prof. Dr. T.Venugopal, Controller of Examinations, felicitated the gathering. Dr.N.Saradha, Organizing secretary, Asst.prof. of Mathematics proposed vote of thanks.

In the first session first day, Prof.V.Swaminathan, Saraswathi Narayanan College, Madurai, delivered a talk in the topic Resolvability in Graphs. Prof.Y.B.Venkatakrishnan, Sastra Deemed to be University,Thanjavur engaged the second session and delivered a lecture in Restrictions on Complement of Dominating Sets. Prof.R.Sundareswaran, SSN College of Engineering, Chennai handled the third session and gave lecture in Embedding of Fuzzy Graphs on Topological Surfaces . Prof.Suresh Elumalai, University of Haifa, Israel decorated last session in the first day by his topic Extremal Graphs on Certain Vertex Based Topological Indices for c-Cyclic Graphs.

In the second day program,Prof.Selvaraj Balachandran, University of Free State South Africa delivered a lecture in the topic On The Extremal Zagreb Indices of Some Classes of Graphs followed by Prof.Suresh Elumalai, University of Haifa, Israel continuing the topic Extremal Graphs on Certain Vertex Based Topological Indices for c-Cyclic Graphs and he also introduce new software Graph Tea for computation of graph. This program came to an end in a grand manner with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr.S.Vijayabarathi, Organizing secretary, Asst.prof. of Mathematics.

65 students and Staff members from various Institutions got benefited and the feedback given by the participants reveal the success of the program.
